Teacher Arrested on DUI Charge On Way To school

ESTERO, FL (WINK) -Lee County Sheriff's deputies arrested an Estero High School teacher Monday morning, for allegedly driving under the influence on her way to school.

Nancy Vaughn, 55, was arrested after failing sobriety tests, and submitting to breathalyzer tests two hours later that registered .258 and .273, according to her arrest report. That's more than three times the legal limit

Vaughn allegedly told deputies she hadn't had anything to drink, and that she was going 45 miles per hour when she was actually driving 20 miles per hour.

Vaughn was stopped after LCSO received a call of a reckless driver on Imperial Pkwy. at Yerry St.

According to the Lee County School District, Vaughn will be placed on an administrative reassignment (outside of a school) while they conduct an internal investigation.

Vaughn is on probation related to a May 2013 DUI to which she pleaded no contest. She received one year county probation and a one-year license revocation as part of her plea agreement, though she was allowed to drive to and from work.
