Boston Marathon Anniversary

Boston (CBS 2/FOX 28) -

Tuesday marks one year since the Boston Marathon became a terrorist target.

And now this year, runners are preparing for a physical and emotional test.

On the streets of Boston, you can see a freshly painted finish line and with it, a new beginning for 36 thousand runners.

Sally Duval's husband was running last year. He wasn't injured, but the family felt an all-too-familiar feeling when the bombs went off.

Sallys brother was killed in the 9-11 attacks on the world trade center.

She says it's important to keep traditions like the marathon alive, and not let terrorists win.

Psychologists say that dealing with issues can calm the stress many feel after a traumatic event, that's why so many runners are returning with determination for this year's race.

This year's Boston Marathon will be held next Monday.
