Inmate Escapes Work Release Facility in Dubuque

DUBUQUE, Iowa (AP) -- Authorities say an inmate enrolled in a work release program has failed to return to a designated facility in Dubuque.

A news release Tuesday from the state Department of Corrections says 41-year-old Jon Jozef Myers hasn't returned to the facility since he left for a job assignment. He was put on escape status Monday.

Myers was placed in the work release program in early October. He is currently serving a five-year sentence for a conviction of assault with a weapon.
