Boil Advisory In Tripoli

TRIPOLI, Iowa (CBS 2/FOX 28) -- The City of Tripoli is recommending all residents boil their water before using it for drinking or cooking. The advisory is for all residents connected to the City of Tripoli water supply. The boil advisory is being issued because of a weather-related problem in the Tripoli water supply distribution system.

Before drinking or cooking with water, bring it all to a boil, let it boil for one minute, and let it cool before using it. Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, and food preparation until further notice.

Boiling kills bacteria and other organisms in the water. The water may be used for bathing and other similar purposes.

The City is working with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources to resolve the situation. For more information, contact the Tripoli City Hall at (319) 882-4801.
