Cedar Rapids Police Chief Delivers for Meals on Wheels

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA (CBS 2/FOX 28) -- A familiar face greeted many Meals on Wheels customers in Cedar Rapids this morning.
    Police Chief Wayne Jerman delivered means with volunteers  as part of a public service event to get police involved in the community.
    The Cedar Rapids Police Department says the Meals on Wheels program provides an important service and also helps make sure that everyone in the community is cared for.
    The Cedar Rapids Police Department says that the volunteers with the Meals on Wheels program also provide welfare checks on senior citizens, often alerting them if an individual is sick or injured.
