Eastern Iowa Flea Market

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (CBS 2/FOX 28) -- A way for some people to create their own jobs and careers was on site this weekend at the Kirkwood Outreach Center.

The Eastern Iowa Flea Market is the only market of its kind in the Corridor that operates year-round.

It's usually held twice a month and gives area shoppers the opportunity to see what's new from area vendors and also gives small business owners a better chance to get started.

"It gives you a place without having a store," Heidi Liegl said. "It gives us a chance to get your name out there and let people know that you're here and give people a chance to buy locally."

Among the items for sale at the market include toys, antiques, and other collectibles.

The next flea market will be held on April 19th.
