Two ICCSD Schools Named "Lowest-Achieving"

IOWA CITY, Iowa (CBS 2/FOX 28) -- Two elementary schools in the Iowa City Community School District are now considered as persistently low-achieving by the Iowa Department of Education.

Mark Twain Elementary in Iowa City and Kirkwood Elementary in Coralville are now identified as school's in need of assistance, which qualifies them for federal funds to reform K-12 education.

However, despite the classification, testing scores for both schools increased from fall 2012 to fall 2013.
