New Charges for Iowa City Man

IOWA CITY, Iowa (CBS 2/FOX 28) -- An Iowa City man is facing new charges stemming from a standoff in July.

Torian Cleggette now faces additional theft and weapons charges.

Police say in the early morning hours of July 7th, Cleggette drove buy a group of people and pointed a gun out of the window while shouting at them. When police found Cleggette, he exited his vehicle and fled on foot before getting into another vehicle.

Cleggette then went to an Iowa City residence where he held himself up before police took him into custody.

Cleggette was taken to the Johnson County Jail early on Saturday.
