Police Try to ID Body Found in Mississippi

KEOKUK, Iowa (AP) -- Authorities are trying to identify the body of a man found in the Mississippi River near Keokuk.
   The Keokuk Police Department says the body was discovered early Wednesday. It was trapped in debris by a power plant.
   The Daily Gate City in Keokuk reports police are scanning the state's database of missing persons for any leads. They've also reached out to authorities in nearby Illinois and other agencies.
   The body has been sent to the state medical examiner's office for an autopsy. Additional information has not been released.
