Flood-Damaged Cedar Rapids Buildings Get Second Chance

CEDAR RAPIDS (CBS 2/FOX 28) --
Two Cedar Rapids buildings set for demolition may not be destroyed.
The buildings on 1st Avenue NW and K Avenue NW were purchased by the city's buyout program after they were damaged in the floods of 2008.   They were built in the 1920's.
Groups concerned about losing more of Cedar Rapids' history, though, asked that the buildings not be demolished.
The city is now putting them up for bid.
If they aren't bought, they could still be destroyed.
