3 Dead After CR Shooting

CEDAR RAPIDS (CBS 2/FOX 28) -- Police cars, caution tape, and body bags - among the last things you would expect to see here on Banar Dr. Southwest.
"I moved over here to get away from the noise on 33rd," one resident told us.
Their silence was shattered early Thursday morning. Investigators say just after 6:30, 47-year-old Robert Livingston arrived at the home of his mother in law, 73-year-old Linda Huber, on 3515 Banar Drive SW.  Livingston's wife, 41-year-old Ingrid Livingston, was also at the home at the time.
Then...the unthinkable.
"Robert Livingston entered the home, shot Linda Huber, and then shot Ingrid Livingston...before he turned the weapon on himself," said Greg Below, public safety coordinator.
Police say two children in the home at the time we're not injured. The entire block was shut down by police for hours, as investigators went back and forth into the house, piecing the puzzle together.
Neighbors watched on, with what can only be described as a mix of curiosity and shock.
"I thought we had a nice neighborhood," resident Pat Bell said. "It's just a surprise to us out here, nothing ever happens out here."
Thoughts soon turned towards the children inside during the shooting.
"I just hope the kids have someplace to go," Bell said.
Donald Feldmann, who we caught sweeping his driveway, echoed his neighbors' sentiment.
"Anybody getting killed or anything like that...that's quite a tragedy.
Feldmann, like many others here, came to escape, retire, and find some peace and quiet.
We love it; we've been going on for 7 years being here, maybe 8, Feldmann said.  We're here until the good lord takes us home.
For the victims at 3515 Banar Drive, unfortunately, that day came too soon.

Police are not telling us on the motive or type of weapon used in the shooting. They are also not telling us of the status of Livingstons' children as well.

The investigation is still ongoing.
