New Cedar Rapids Driver's License Station

CEDAR RAPIDS (CBS 2/FOX 28) --
The Department of Transportation has now opened its new driver's license station in Cedar Rapids.
The building is located on Queen Court Southwest.
Workers say the facility is larger to allow more customer space.
It also has a more open and flexible floor plan which should help save customers' time.
"Its a bigger location.  We do have more stand alone systems.  What that means is once you get pulled up to the counter, you won't have to see anybody else but that clerk that is issuing you," said Driver's License Supervisor Lisa Hennessey.
The previous DOT station on Collins Road closed last Friday.
If you don't want to go to the building, workers say most people have the option to renew their license over the internet.
