Hawk Fans Watch Bowl in Corridor

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA (CBS2/FOX28) - With the snow falling its cold outside Cocktails in Northeast Cedar Rapids, but inside the bar, Iowa Hawkeye fans take on a Tampa mood and are warming up to the idea of being back in a bowl game.  Gearing up on this New Years Day, as in every design of black and gold gear you can imagine.  Thats Krista Ryan  in the Iowa sweater, periodically yelling Go Hawks back in the pool room and friend Julie Ward is sporting a unique Herky hat to fit in as a new member of Hawkeye Nation.  She says she just had to be among fellow fans for this. Its a special Hawkeye game and I made this special hat, its my first Hawk gear since Ive only lived here two and a half years and they have to win today.   Bar tenders dance up to customers with their drinks and one fan wears a hawk hoodie thats such a vibrant yellow it practically mimics the Tampa sunshine.  On the dozens of televisions hung on the walls theres fierce competition on the field, but  server Holly Huss says this is the kind of place  where even an L-S-U  fan could show up today.  Just for the record, we didnt see any.  Its easy to make friends here and everybodys always really friendly to each other .. never any issues or anything like that.    Hawk fans hang tough and watch some exciting final moments of the Outback bowl, but in the end, a tough time in Tampa and too few reasons to cheer inside Cocktails bar.  Corridor fans wandered back outside into the falling snow to drive home, but at  least the Florida fans could head to a 75 degree beach to forget about the final score.
