Seven Year Prison Sentence for Assault
CEDAR RAPIDS (CBS 2/FOX 28) --
Johnathan Mitchell, the Cedar Rapids man cleared of murder last year, is going to prison for a different crime.
Mitchell has been sentenced to seven years behind bars for assaulting a man in 2010.
In October 2013, a jury acquitted Mitchell of all charges in the death of Cedar Rapids cab driver Cathy Stickley.
Mitchell admitted to stealing money from Stickley, but he claimed she was already dead at the time.
