Students Recognized During MLK Luncheon
CEDAR RAPIDS (CBS 2/FOX 28) --
Twenty-two students are being recognized for their efforts promoting Martin Luther King Junior's work in Iowa.
At the Unite Way's 28th annual "Remembering Martin Luncheon," the nonprofit honored the students for their leadership and community service.
"Dr. King was a leader and we are encouraging youth in our community to become leaders, to be accepting of others, and to become engaged in the community," said Sue Driscoll of the United Way.
The students were also invited to a seminar where they could share the challenges and opportunities they've encountered.
