Fmr. Agriprocessors Mgr. Sentenced to Prison
POSTVILLE (CBS 2/FOX 28) --
A former Iowa slaughterhouse manager accused of exploiting immigrant workers is facing years in prison.
Hosam Amara pleaded guilty last year to conspiring to harbor illegal immigrants for profit.
Investigators say he also used those workers for sex.
Amara was the poultry manager at the Agriprocessors plant in Postville.
389 workers were arrested for being in the country illegally during a raid in May of 2008.
At a hearing on January 30th, a federal judge sentenced Amara to nearly three and a half years behind bars.
