Police Probe Death Of Iowa Man

DIXON, Ill. (AP) -- Illinois State Police say an investigation into the death of an Iowa man won't include an examination into why his body was discovered 12 hours after motorists first reported seeing him along the side of an Illinois freeway.

State police spokeswoman Monique Bond says that's because troopers dispatched to Interstate 88 near Dixon didn't see signs of the man. They were sent to the area on Nov. 12 after motorists said they saw a man on the ground waving his arms.

The body of 65-year-old Lee Catlin of Bettendorf, Iowa, was found near there the next day.

It's not immediately clear why Catlin was along the freeway.

The Lee County coroner's office has determined that no foul play was suspected in Catlin's death.
