Suspect Shot by Officer in Cedar Falls

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa (AP) -- A Cedar Falls police officer involved in a shooting has been treated at a hospital and released.
   The Cedar Falls Police Department says the shooting happened around 3 a.m. Wednesday. There was an altercation involving the officer and a suspect. The officer was injured and the suspect was shot.
   The suspect is in stable condition at a hospital. No names have been released.
   The investigation has been turned over to the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation, which is a standard policy after an officer-involved shooting.
   A message left with Cedar Falls police was not immediately returned Wednesday.
