Man Wanted in Shooting Death Captured
LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) -- Members of a federal task force have arrested a 23-year-old man in Nebraska on suspicion of shooting an 18-year-old man to death in eastern-central Iowa.
A news release from the U.S. Marshals Metro Fugitive Task Force says Perquondis Holmes was arrested Wednesday morning in Lincoln on a warrant charging him with being a felon in possession of a firearm.
Witnesses reported seeing Holmes shoot a gun during an incident on Nov. 14 in Waterloo, Iowa, that ended in the death of 18-year-old Dae'Quan Campbell.
Holmes isn't supposed to possess firearms because of a 2007 conviction for intimidation with a weapon.
Officials say Holmes is currently being held in the Lancaster County Jail and is awaiting extradition to Iowa.
