CORALVILLE, Iowa (AP) -- A 38-year-old Iowa City man has been accused of nearly biting off a finger of another man during a fight.
Authorities say the fight started a little before 4 p.m. Saturday in Coralville. Police say that as the fight escalated, Gary O'Dell bit down on the man's right index finger, injuring it so badly it had to be amputated.
O'Dell is charged with felony willful injury causing serious injury. He remained in Johnson County Jail on Monday, pending $15,000 bail.
Online court records don't list the name of his attorney in the case.
