No New Trial in Mason City Child Death Case

MASON CITY, Iowa (AP) --
A judge has denied a request for a new trial for a Mason City man convicted in connection with the death of his son.
The Globe Gazette reported Tuesday that a judge denied a new trial for 30-year-old Kenneth L. Adams.
A Cerro Gordo County jury convicted Adams last month of child endangerment resulting in death.
The charges stemmed from the October 2012 death of Adams' 18-month-old son.
Prosecutors argued Adams put the boy face down in a pillow, cutting off his breathing.
Sentencing for Adams is set for Nov. 8 in Cerro Gordo County District Court in Mason City.
