Window Restored at Iowa City Church

IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) -- A piece of history has been restored at Zion Lutheran Church in Iowa City.
A 153-year-old stained-glass window has been repaired and now hangs beside the door to the nave.
Restoration expert Wendel Guy says he had to replace a small pane and insert stainless steel pieces to reinforce the window.
Speaking for the church, Shannon Yost-Spears says the window restoration was "a beautiful way to bring a part of our past into our future."
The original church building was built in 1860 and demolished in 1964 with the construction of a replacement. The congregation sold the window and other artifacts during the move.
