Iowa City School District Work on Diversity in Special Education

IOWA CITY, IA (CBS 2/FOX 28) -- The Iowa City School District is looking to improve statistcs regarding diversity in its special education classrooms.
    District wide-- 16% of all students are African American but within special education classes 31% of students are African American.
    Since 2010, a consultant from the U.S. Department of Education has been working with the school district to help identify the problems and change them.
    The Department says the District has been open to the changes and it is seeing  improvements.
