Police Officer, 2 Others Charged With Poaching

DES MOINES (CBS 2/FOX 28)  - Iowa DNR officers say a police officer is among three people who poached a buck, so they could get it on video.

  Jesse Bolin, a Mound City, Missouri officer, his brother Paul, and Steven Cole of Hamburg, all admitted to taking the buck so they could tape it for their production company.

  Officers say they found 23 poached deer at Cole's home, along with several other animal trophies and meat.  He faces more than $10,000 in fines, as well as a 2 year prison sentence.  He;s also banned from hunting for three years.

  Jesse Bolin has more than $1,200 in fines, and must perform 100 hours of community service.  He is banned from hunting for one year.

  Both stil face charges in Missouri, and may also face a ban in all of the 40 states in the Wildlife Violator Compact.

  Paul Bolin pleaded guilty to hunting without a license.
