Credit Union Merger Announced

DUBUQUE, IA (CBS 2/FOX 28) -- A pair of Iowa based credit unions announced Wednesday a plan to merge together.  The deal between Dupaco Community Credit Union and Iowa Community Credit Union would impact 18 locations in and around Iowa.
When finalized, the new organization would continue to operate under the Dupaco Community Credit Union name.
Together, the two institutions serve more than 80,000 members with locations in Dubuque, Cedar Rapids, Waterloo, Cedar Falls, Dyersville, Manchester and Caroll as well as locations in Wisconsin and Illinois.
The deal is expected to be completed during the first quarter of 2014.  The merger talks began when long-time Iowa Community Credit Union President and CEO Mark Heth announced his retirement.  That triggered an analysis of the company's future plans.
