Corridor Company Wins Top Tech Honors

DES MOINES, Iowa (CBS 2/FOX 28) - A young company in Coralville that is literally changing the way students learn has now received top honors from Iowa's tech community.

CBS 2 News first told you about Higher Learning Technologies two weeks ago as part of Scott Sanborn's Created in the Corridor series. The company produces test-prep and study guide apps which are now being used on mobile devices in nearly 120 countries. Thursday night in Des Moines, Higher Learning Technologies was named "Best Start Up of the Year" at the Silicon Prairie Awards sponsored by Silicon Prairie News. "There are some great companies up for these awards," says HLT Co-Founder Adam Keune, "and we're really honored to be one of those companies."

Higher Learning Technologies also won "Mobile App of the Year" and "Innovation of the Year" honors and they've only been in operation 18 months.

Currently producing medical study apps for dental and nursing students, HLT plans to branch out into other fields moving forward.
