Man Drowns in Black Hawk County Pond

WATERLOO (CBS 2/FOX 28) - Black Hawk County Sheriff's deputies say one man is dead today after an apparent drowning.

Deputies say they received a report of a possible drowning in a farm pond about 8:15 a.m. Friday morning at 3137 North Elk Run Road.

Deputies arrived and with the help of the Waterloo Fire/Rescue team located a middle age man who was dead on the scene.

The man's name is not being released until his family can be notified.

The cause of the drowning is still under investigation, as the body is sent to the State Medical Examiner's Office for autopsy.
