Cedar Rapids City Council Talks Redevelopment

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA (CBS2/FOX28) -

Public hearings were held on several major Cedar Rapids redevelopment plans Tuesday.
The first project is a $16 million conversion of the Nash Finch redistribution area into a commercial and retail building.
Another major project in the works is the redevelopment of the Great Furniture Mart downtown. Developers say it would take $6 to $8 million dollars to convert the now empty building into commercial property and condos.
If approved, construction on both projects would begin as soon as fall 2013.
