FEMA Volunteers To Graduate In Vinton

WASHINGTON, DC (CBS 2/ FOX 28) - The first class of  FEMA volunteers in Vinton will graduate next week. The volunteers are part of Americorps, which gives 18 to 24 year olds a chance to serve the country full time for 10 months, in disaster response.

  More than 300 volunteers will graduate in services in Vinton, and Vickburg, MS this month.  They will receive the Segal AmeriCorps Education Award, to help them pay for college.

  The next class of volunteers will begin their service in Vinton this fall.
