Johnson Co. Boating Ban Lifted

IOWA CITY, IA (CBS 2/FOX 28) -- With Coralville Lake returning to normal levels, flood waters will begin to fall downstream in Iowa City and Coralville. As a result, the Johnson County Sheriff's Office is lifting the boating ban at noon on Thursday.
That ban had barred the public from the river and any of its tributaries downstream of the dam.  The ban was lifted because this morning the Army Corps of Engineers lowered the output from the dam to 14,000 cubic feet per second.  That will help lower the water level downstream and make the water currents safe for boating.
