A 16-Year-Old is Critically Wounded After Shooting in Des Moines

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) -- Police are investigating an overnight shooting that has left a 16-year-old boy critically injured.
   Police say officers responded to reports of a shooting just after midnight and found the teen in someone's yard.
   The teen was taken to a local hospital and underwent surgery. He remains in critical condition.
   Police have not released the teen's name.
   Investigators have been interviewing witnesses and processing the scene of the shooting.
   Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Des Moines Police Detective Matt Towers at 515-283-4981 or report a tip anonymously through Polk County Crime Stoppers at 515-223-1400.
