Marion Police Investigate Armed Bank Robbery


CEDAR RAPIDS, IA (CBS 2/FOX 28) -- Marion Police are combing through surveillance video in an effort to locate the person responsible for an armed robbery Monday morning.It happened before 10:30am at the Farmers State Bank on Twixt Town Road across from Lindale Mall. 

Witnesses told police a person walked into the bank with some type of mask on and showed a handgun.

Marion Police are looking for a newer white SUV type vehicle with yellow tape over the front and rear license plates.  As the vehicle left the scene, a section of blue tarp was observed hanging out of the driver’s door.  The vehicle left the area of the bank north bound on Lindale Dr. toward W. 8th Ave. in Marion.  

No one was hurt in the robbery.
