Cedar River Flooding

(CBS 2/FOX 28) - The Cedar River is flooding north of Cedar Rapids, here are the latest totals.

Charles City

Currently at 18.72 feet and quickly rising. Flood stage is at 12ft. Forecast to crest at 20.6 feet Tuesday morning.

-To put in some prospective, this will be below the 2008, 1999, 1993 levels.

At 20 feet the follow areas are affected in Charles City: Leland Avenue Floods, Homes south of Riverside flood, 4th & south Grand Street floods, Brackett Street and lions filed cottages flood, Chautauqua Ave Floods, Clark street and court street floods.

 
Janesville

Currently at 6.8 feet and rising.  Flood stage is at 13 feet. As of right now it is expected to crest at 14.8 feet sometime Wednesday morning.

-This will be over the 1993 stage by about 4”

 

Cedar Falls

Currently at 86.72, Flood stage is 88, Forecast to go to 92.7 by early Thursday.

-This is still below the 2008,1999,1993 levels.

At this level, Gateway Park and portions of George Wyth Park with be flooded. Parts of Cottage Row Road, Riverside Drive, Big Woods Road, & Lake Street will be flooded as well.

 

Waterloo

Currently 9.46, flood stage 13, Forecast is 15.5ft Early Thursday.
