Honor Flight Leaves Cedar Rapids

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA (CBS 2/FOX 28) -- A new group of veterans from eastern Iowa are on their way to see the memorials in their honor.  The latest honor flight took off from the eastern Iowa airport Tuesday morning for Washington, D.C.
The group will visit the war memorials there, including the World War II Memorial.  In recent years, hundreds of surviving veterans have taken the honor flight to see the memorial.  Fundraising collects the money needed for the vets and their caregivers to take the one day trip to our nation's capital.
This group will return late Tuesday night.
