Suspicious Package Actually Care Package

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA (CBS 2/FOX 28) -- Cedar Rapids Police say a well intentioned individual caused a bit of a scare along Wilson Avenue SW this morning.  Police were notified of a suspicious package along the Wilson Avenue/Interstate 380 interchange.
Several agencies, including the Linn County Sheriff's Explosive Ordinance Device Team responded.  Crews shut down Wilson Avenue for about 90 minutes during the investigation.
Investigators determined the styrofoam cooler only had food inside.  There was also a note on the inside (pictured above) saying the food was for people in need.
Cedar Rapids Police say although this was intended to be done with good intentions, this is not something that Linn County Law Enforcement recommends.
There are numerous food pantries available to donate food to.  A listing of such facilities can be found by clicking here.
