UI Braces for High Water

Updated: Thursday, July 3 2014, 06:20 AM CDT
IOWA CITY, IA (CBS2/FOX28) - The University of Iowa is preparing for high waters on campus.
Right now, all operations are running normally and no classes or events have been canceled but university officials are watching the water closely.
The university is telling anyone coming into campus to avoid low-lying areas like Dubuque St.
During the floods of 2008, classes were cancelled for days and even after waters receded students were moved to high ground buildings once classes started up again.

Iowa City officials will continue to closely monitor Iowa River and area
creek levels. The City has created a web page to keep citizens updated
with the latest flood-related information and provide additional
resources. To stay up-to-date on the latest news, visit
