Task Force Submits Final VEISHEA Report

Updated: Friday, July 11 2014, 10:26 PM CDT

AMES, IA (CBS2/FOX28) - Changes are coming to the annual VEISHEA celebration at Iowa State University.

Friday, the VEISHEA Task Force voted unanimously to discontinue the week-long celebration in its current form.

The group recommends breaking the event into three or more smaller events throughout the year.

This all stems from riots on Campustown streets this spring. One person was injured during the violence.

ISU President Steven Leath is expected to review the report and make a final decision in August.
