Hy-Vee Recalls Shrimp For Allergens

Updated: Saturday, June 1 2013, 05:15 PM CDT

Some shrimp sold at Hy-Vee meat counters is under a recall right now.

Blessings, Inc. of Tucson is recalling three lots of EZ Peel Shrimp sold at the meat counters, because it has high levels of sulfite.  It is a preservative allowed by the FDA, but could cause problems for anyone with a sensativity to it.

The shrimp was also sold at the Cedar Valley Fish Market in Waterloo,  between February 12 and May 23.  If you believe you have some in your home, you can return it to the store for a full refund.
