Branstad Forms Recovery Task Force

Updated: Friday, September 19 2014, 11:00 AM CDT
DES MOINES, IA (CBS 2/FOX 28) – Governor Terry Branstad has formed a new task force to oversee Iowa’s long-term recovery from this summer’s severe weather.

The group, made up of representatives from both the state and federal government along with the private sector, had their first meeting today and will work with communities and citizens affected by the storms on how to use available resources.

Since July, Iowa has received three Presidential Disaster Declarations for 57 of the state’s 99-counties after heavy rains, flooding, hail, and strong winds caused damage throughout all of Iowa.
